About

There are plenty of attractive men in the world, but unfortunately few of them that are avid readers. Welcome to "Hot Guys Reading Books" the blog that scours the internet for examples of luscious literary men and gathers the evidence in one place.

Hot Guys Reading Books is updated almost every day.

Submissions Welcome!

You can submit here.
OR, submit your photos to hotguysreadingbooks@gmail.com.

Don't think the guys are hot enough? The quality of the photos are only as good as the submissions. If you think you are (or know someone who is) hot stuff, snap a photo, and send it in!

Meet the Writers

Alli has a degree in English and still reads profusely even though she works in software. HGRB was Alli's brainchild, and she still cannot believe how popular it's gotten. Aside from reading and blogging, she enjoys drawing, adrenaline inducing adventurous activities, and making her friends laugh.

Kristin is a twenty-something grad student and future English teacher. She procrastinates by baking, crafting, shopping, riding her pink bike, and reading books that aren't course requirements. Kristin believes in the cause of hot guys reading books so much that she found one of her own, and now she raids his bookshelf all the time.

Consider Lindsay a twenty-something Anne of Green Gables. She works in a library and a middle-school. She enjoys eating mint chocolate chip ice cream while plotting to take over the world, crocheting Harry Potter-themed scarves, taking her dog, Penelope, for long walks, and reading as many books as she can get her hands on. She even has a literary tattoo. Once, Lindsay was compared to President Garfield.

Brandon is a young man who is possibly obsessed with both books and guys. He is pursuing a Degree in English and Library Science, with plans to own a bookshop later in life. He enjoys all kinds of sweets, very rainy days, dancing, and the color pink. He's immensely proud of being a half-Cuban and the small personal library he owns.

Jordan is a farm kid in her early twenties and in graduate school for Speech-Language Pathology. When not doing the school thing, she works as a freelance sports writer for an embarrassingly low price. She enjoys time with her dog, Maggie May, sewing items that her mother has to fix, hotdogs, and summer camp. Her bucket list includes learning to play the cello and living on the Pacific Northwest coast.

All our submitter wrote was, “Frankenstein.” I’m not sure if this hot guy’s nickname (or real name, ouch) is Frankenstein or if he is reading Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Let’s go with reading Frankenstein. Anyway, this reminds of me of those super intelligent, deep thinking, attractive boys from high school who hung out at the local coffee shop that I was too intimidated by to actually have a conversation with. Really, all I want to do is wear his flannel shirt, talk about poor Mary Shelley’s nightmares, and then go listen to Dave Matthews together in his Jeep. Sigh.
Side note: I actually wrote a paper in my British Literature class about how much I loathe the character of Dr. Frankenstein. Still do.
(thanks, Grace!)

“This is my ex boyfriend - I’m awfully kind to still call him hot.” Hey girl, you’ve got me beat in the “let’s be kind to our ex boyfriends” department. But, you know, if I had a picture of my hot ex boyfriend reading, well, I would probably treasure it too. We’ve got a good combo of shaggy hair, scruff, and glasses here.
Here’s to the good looking, literary men in our lives, whether they are of the past, present, or future.
(thanks, Kathie!)

This ultra literary guy is married to our submitter Christina: “He teaches books… well, high school English, but that’s basically reading books. In this photo, he’s reading Stephen King’s latest, Full Dark, No Stars.” I’m digging how intense he looks in this photo and his awesome Batman t-shirt. Gotta love a guy who has the best qualities of grownup and child.
I think the “Eat Sleep Read Love” poster in the background sums everything quite nicely.
(thanks, Christina!)

I think this picture is super appropriate for Spring Break 2012. This hot guy is soaking up some rays and catching up on some reading in the Bahamas. I love how he is totally in vacation mode, including awesome hair, casual facial scruff, and relaxing in wicker. So, if you’re not fortunate enough to be on Spring Break this week, maybe you can just close your eyes and pretend you’re hanging out on a Bahama beach with this guy and doing a little pleasure reading. Sounds like an ideal vacay to me.
(thanks, Molly!)

The submitter didn’t feel the need to say anything about this guy, and I think she had the right idea! What else is there to say about a hot guy with awesome hair reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman? This photo speaks for itself.
(thanks, Anna!)

Before I leave you for a week and a half of vacation, I present this very attractive man with epic hair and glasses reading one of my favorite books, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.
See you next year! (Unless of course Lindsay and Kristin post while I’m gone.)
(thanks, Krista!)

The submitter notes that this hot guy with epic hair, Eric, “writes more than he reads.” While writing is also sexy, I’m glad she managed to nab this photo!

The submitter writes, “Spotted this laid-back hottie at the beach…but I was too embarrassed to take his picture, so I had to sneak it from behind.”
I kind of like the different angle, and that he’s on a bench swing. I love bench swings. Also, we get to see his hat. I’m wondering if he’s hiding some epic hair under that hat? I hope so!
(thanks, Allison!)

First of all, awesome t-shirt. I’m kind of in love with Wayne Coyne. I mean, Wayne Coyne has really epic hair. But this isn’t about Wayne Coyne, this is about this hot guy in this picture. I’m told the book is his favorite: Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut.
(thanks, Vivian!)

This HGRB with lovely hair and a sexy pink watch is reading one of my favorite books on the border between US and Canada. (I don’t think he’s Canadian, though, sadly.) The submitter writes, “photo taken moments before officers from homeland security tore apart his car on a quest to uncover narcotics or potentially dangerous produce.”
Oh no! Fruits and veggies! Run for cover!
(thanks, Greg!)
