About

There are plenty of attractive men in the world, but unfortunately few of them that are avid readers. Welcome to "Hot Guys Reading Books" the blog that scours the internet for examples of luscious literary men and gathers the evidence in one place.

Hot Guys Reading Books is updated almost every day.

Submissions Welcome!

You can submit here.
OR, submit your photos to hotguysreadingbooks@gmail.com.

Don't think the guys are hot enough? The quality of the photos are only as good as the submissions. If you think you are (or know someone who is) hot stuff, snap a photo, and send it in!

Meet the Writers

Alli has a degree in English and still reads profusely even though she works in software. HGRB was Alli's brainchild, and she still cannot believe how popular it's gotten. Aside from reading and blogging, she enjoys drawing, adrenaline inducing adventurous activities, and making her friends laugh.

Kristin is a twenty-something grad student and future English teacher. She procrastinates by baking, crafting, shopping, riding her pink bike, and reading books that aren't course requirements. Kristin believes in the cause of hot guys reading books so much that she found one of her own, and now she raids his bookshelf all the time.

Consider Lindsay a twenty-something Anne of Green Gables. She works in a library and a middle-school. She enjoys eating mint chocolate chip ice cream while plotting to take over the world, crocheting Harry Potter-themed scarves, taking her dog, Penelope, for long walks, and reading as many books as she can get her hands on. She even has a literary tattoo. Once, Lindsay was compared to President Garfield.

Brandon is a young man who is possibly obsessed with both books and guys. He is pursuing a Degree in English and Library Science, with plans to own a bookshop later in life. He enjoys all kinds of sweets, very rainy days, dancing, and the color pink. He's immensely proud of being a half-Cuban and the small personal library he owns.

Jordan is a farm kid in her early twenties and in graduate school for Speech-Language Pathology. When not doing the school thing, she works as a freelance sports writer for an embarrassingly low price. She enjoys time with her dog, Maggie May, sewing items that her mother has to fix, hotdogs, and summer camp. Her bucket list includes learning to play the cello and living on the Pacific Northwest coast.

One of our awesome followers, Sarah, helps run a nonprofit group in New York City called ReLIT NY.  They “hand out free books to the general public to promote the reading and recycling of books.”
She writes that her group had an event recently where they handed out books.  Of course, this event might have been quite a bit back since HGRB has a long queue of photographs.  Don’t fret though!  They posted lots of photographs for your perusal on their flickr account.
Also, she says “many of the men are quite attractive… and they were looking at the books and are very excited to do so.”  It’s so adorable when cute men get excited about picking out new books to read.  That seems like a great organization to be a part of.  Also, Sarah got permission from all the participants to use their photographs.  It’s a win-win situation for everyone.

All I’m going to say is that I think this guy looks kind of like Ryan Gosling. And for that, I am eternally thankful.

This is Chris, our lucky submitter’s boyfriend. She writes, “He is a biologist who is very much into advancing himself in computer-related aspects of biology. Here he is reading a book on Unix during one of our read/study dates on a lovely Sunday in Los Angeles.” Well, I am not necessarily interested in Unix, but I am certainly interested in this guy. Do all hot guys reading books come with read/study Sunday-Funday dates? That is an excellent idea.
(thanks, Esin!)

Toby has many admirable qualities: he reads, enjoys the outdoors, and is financially astute.  The submitter writes that Toby just spent “a long morning trolling used book stores for great finds.”  I love going to used book stores.  It’s not just the prices, it’s also that beautiful musty book smell.
Toby is reading at Madison Square Park in NYC.  According to our well-read followers, his impressively thick book is The Abstinence Teacher by Tom Perrotta.
(thanks, stefanie!)

O hai! I realized it’s been a few days since I posted myself, so here’s a picture of my friend/coworker’s boyfriend, who occasionally stops by and sat down in my chair for a picture. He’s reading The Sheltering Skyby Paul Bowles which I happened to have at my desk because I’d loaned it to a friend a long time ago and never bothered to bring it home.
It’s one of my favorite books. The HGRB said it looked interesting, so I warned him, that it’s super depressing.
“Oh, my favorite book is Les Mis,” he said.
I think my friend found a winner.
And I forgot to mention that he’s wearing a suit!

The submitter writes, “This is Antonio. Not only is Antonio a hot guy, here he is reading Terry Brooks book AND he is also Italian. Triple confluence of awesome. Not only does Antonio read books, but he’s written his own book!” Quadruple confluence of awesome?
The submitter also writes that today is his birthday. Happy Birthday, Antonio!
(thanks, Nerdy!)

Remember when a reading nook wasn’t an e-reader but a comfy chair, cozy blanket, and a corner bookshelf? Victor apparently does. The submitter writes, “I had just made him that blanket, and he sat down in my library to page through Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison.”
(thanks, Laurie!)

“Dan and James are BOTH reading books. And they’re both wearing toques in 30 weather in Athens,” writes the submitter.  ”Only Canadians would do this. If that’s not hot, I dont know what is.”
Oh, Canada.  Eh?
(thanks, Maggie!)

This submitter admits they love using their iphone to snap pics of hot guys on public transport.  Now, that’s a great habit you shouldn’t ever try to break.

He’s hot, he’s reading, and he plays Scrabble? I’m smitten already!
I think I have that same brown blanket, too!
(thanks, Eliza!)
