About

There are plenty of attractive men in the world, but unfortunately few of them that are avid readers. Welcome to "Hot Guys Reading Books" the blog that scours the internet for examples of luscious literary men and gathers the evidence in one place.

Hot Guys Reading Books is updated almost every day.

Submissions Welcome!

You can submit here.
OR, submit your photos to hotguysreadingbooks@gmail.com.

Don't think the guys are hot enough? The quality of the photos are only as good as the submissions. If you think you are (or know someone who is) hot stuff, snap a photo, and send it in!

Meet the Writers

Alli has a degree in English and still reads profusely even though she works in software. HGRB was Alli's brainchild, and she still cannot believe how popular it's gotten. Aside from reading and blogging, she enjoys drawing, adrenaline inducing adventurous activities, and making her friends laugh.

Kristin is a twenty-something grad student and future English teacher. She procrastinates by baking, crafting, shopping, riding her pink bike, and reading books that aren't course requirements. Kristin believes in the cause of hot guys reading books so much that she found one of her own, and now she raids his bookshelf all the time.

Consider Lindsay a twenty-something Anne of Green Gables. She works in a library and a middle-school. She enjoys eating mint chocolate chip ice cream while plotting to take over the world, crocheting Harry Potter-themed scarves, taking her dog, Penelope, for long walks, and reading as many books as she can get her hands on. She even has a literary tattoo. Once, Lindsay was compared to President Garfield.

Brandon is a young man who is possibly obsessed with both books and guys. He is pursuing a Degree in English and Library Science, with plans to own a bookshop later in life. He enjoys all kinds of sweets, very rainy days, dancing, and the color pink. He's immensely proud of being a half-Cuban and the small personal library he owns.

Jordan is a farm kid in her early twenties and in graduate school for Speech-Language Pathology. When not doing the school thing, she works as a freelance sports writer for an embarrassingly low price. She enjoys time with her dog, Maggie May, sewing items that her mother has to fix, hotdogs, and summer camp. Her bucket list includes learning to play the cello and living on the Pacific Northwest coast.

In honor of this Friday, I give you this. Meenal, our submitter, snapped this picture in Los Angeles, en route to Hollywood. “I am totally convinced that this is either Hugh Grant or Hugh Grant’s long lost twin.”
A Hugh Grant twin? Yes, please.
(thanks, Meenal!)

While this guy may clearly be smiling for the picture, it’s obvious he was in the middle of a good book. Personally, I like to think this cutie went right back to reading his book as soon as the picture was taken.

Pay no mind to the gathering crowd with a plastic axe and bizarre headgear.  If you look up into the tree, you will see this submitter’s friend, Travis.
Nowadays Travis is a teacher.  I hope he has this photograph sitting on his desk.

This is Craig. Our submitter had a crush on him from 2nd to 5th grade. She writes: “We are now twenty five, and I haven’t seen or spoken to him since freshman year when I moved. I looked him up on Facebook, just to see what he was up to, and found this super hot guy. Wow! Time was nice to him.” Sounds like a missed connection to me!
(thanks, Lindsey!)

In honor of the rapidly-approaching summer months, here’s a shot of two hot guys reading books on a beach somewhere in Vermont.  This was taken on an abnormally warm day in April.
Hopefully your summer trips to the beach are filled with many sights like this.

Cool shoes, cool chair, and a cool guy. He’s reading Barbara Ehrenreich’s Bright-sided: How the Relentless Promotion of Positing Thinking Has Undermined America. Not only is he cool, but he’s also socially minded.

Sara’s boyfriend, Brian, suffered a concussion the day before this photograph was taken by crashing his bike.  Of course Brian wouldn’t let a silly thing like a concussion keep him from his reading.  It looks like he’s in the middle of Game of Thrones.  (That’s the blue cover, right?)
But the coolest thing about this submission is Sara’s response to his newly-acquired scar on his forehead.  Some people might think his scar makes him look tougher and therefore hotter.  That’s not exactly what Sara thinks.  She wrote, “ the Harry Potter lightening bolt scar he acquired on his forehead… just makes him all the cuter!”  Oh bookworms and the people who love them!
(thanks, Sara!)

All our submitter wrote was: “Pre-grad school. So beautiful.” Definitely got it right with beautiful. Also, for pre-grad school, he is giving that highlighter a workout. As an added bonus to this hot guy reading, I spotted a tattoo on his arm. I mean, I’m not even going to mention the scarf.

Remember when Tyra explained how to smize (smile with your eyes) for the camera? This dog mastered it. In fact, the intense gaze of man’s best friend is almost enough to draw attention away from the Jon Hamm lookalike reading a comic book. I think either one could have a very successful modeling career.

Elsie decided to share a shot of her personal hot guy reading aloud to her on vacation in Cambodia. His name is Dave, and he is reading First They Killed My Father.  Elsie says it was “#5 on our ‘read together list’.”
She can’t wait to meet him on their next vacation spot in Africa to “find out what book he has chosen next”.  That’s sweet.  Well, as long as he continues picking good literature.  But based on his acute fashion sense, he appears to have his ducks in a row.
(thanks, Elsie!)
