About

There are plenty of attractive men in the world, but unfortunately few of them that are avid readers. Welcome to "Hot Guys Reading Books" the blog that scours the internet for examples of luscious literary men and gathers the evidence in one place.

Hot Guys Reading Books is updated almost every day.

Submissions Welcome!

You can submit here.
OR, submit your photos to hotguysreadingbooks@gmail.com.

Don't think the guys are hot enough? The quality of the photos are only as good as the submissions. If you think you are (or know someone who is) hot stuff, snap a photo, and send it in!

Meet the Writers

Alli has a degree in English and still reads profusely even though she works in software. HGRB was Alli's brainchild, and she still cannot believe how popular it's gotten. Aside from reading and blogging, she enjoys drawing, adrenaline inducing adventurous activities, talking to strangers, and making her friends laugh.

Kristin is a twenty-something grad student and future English teacher. She procrastinates by baking, crafting, shopping, riding her pink bike, and reading books that aren't course requirements. Kristin believes in the cause of hot guys reading books so much that she found one of her own, and now she raids his bookshelf all the time.

Consider Lindsay a twenty-something Anne of Green Gables. She works in a library and a middle-school. She enjoys eating mint chocolate chip ice cream while plotting to take over the world, crocheting Harry Potter-themed scarves, taking her dog, Penelope, for long walks, and reading as many books as she can get her hands on. She even has a literary tattoo. Once, Lindsay was compared to President Garfield.

Brandon is a young man who is possibly obsessed with both books and guys. He is pursuing a Degree in English and Library Science, with plans to own a bookshop later in life. He enjoys all kinds of sweets, very rainy days, dancing, and the color pink. He's immensely proud of being a half-Cuban and the small personal library he owns.

This handsome fellow reading Voltaire is Grant! Well, possibly. The submitter explains, “It is in fact possible that his name is not Grant, but my friends and I thought he looked like a Grant. So dreamy.”
Good job with the name; I’m going to agree he does look like a Grant! I think Conner might fit too. Possibly Peter. …Nah, definitely a Grant!

Holly sent in a picture of her boyfriend, reading 10 Little Rubber Ducks to his twin cousins.  Passing on a love of reading to future generations is pretty hot.
The twins remind me of a young Fred and George Weasley.  And the submitter says, “They’re pretty cute.  I think he’s even cuter.”  Epic cuteness all around.

The submitter didn’t feel the need to say anything about this guy, and I think she had the right idea! What else is there to say about a hot guy with awesome hair reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman? This photo speaks for itself.
(thanks, Anna!)

Introducing Brandon!

Thank you so much to everyone who sent in applications to be a volunteer writer! So many of you are top notch writers and really funny people, and it was incredibly hard to make a decision.

That said, I want to introduce our newest volunteer writer, Brandon! Brandon is a self-admitted bibliophile and currently owns more books than he can read. As such, he loves seeing other guys share his desire for reading.

There was another applicant I really wanted to send follow up questions. Jordan, if you’re reading this, I tried to email you at your Virginia.edu email address but it was bounced back. I thought your rant against leggings as pants was really funny, and if you see this, please contact me.

Edited to add: Brandon has a tumblr and you should follow it.

It’s a drawing! The submitter writes, “I don’t own a picture of my boyfriend reading a book, but he is reading a lot and he is super hot, so I decided why not improvise?”
I love it. The submitter notes that his name is Krī and he is a philologist. This is what philology is.
(thanks, Arita!)

As a general rule, a guy who supports awesome bookstores is also awesome. The submitter writes: “Spotted this cutie in O’Hare Airport. He’s reading a book AND wearing a bookstore t-shirt!”
(thanks, Andrea!)

It came to my attention recently that the HGRB “PRINT LIVES” stickers were being misprinted by Zazzle. Because I don’t want anyone ordering off-printed products, I have updated the image and then purchased a sheet of the stickers for myself just to determine they look correct. As you can see, they’re fixed.
If you ordered the stickers in the past and found them to have problems (from what I saw, the words were being printed over the edge of the sticker) please ask Zazzle for a refund. If Zazzle does not issue you a refund, please let me know and I will do so myself. I will need proof that you actually purchased the stickers and did not receive a refund from Zazzle. I can’t send money to just anyone claiming to have purchased the earlier stickers.
On another note: the volunteer writer sign-ups are currently closed. Thanks so much to everyone who applied!

They say if you think of something hot, when you’re cold, then you’ll feel warmer. Can anyone look at this picture and verify that theory?
(thanks!)

Sometimes even the most devoted hot reader must take a nap before finishing his book.  Looks like he has quite a lot left to finish.

This is Sam. He likes to crawl into my bed and read Joyce to me until I fall asleep.
I approve of this hobby of his.
(thanks, inconklusive!)
